What is WomenAID LIVE! ?
WomenAID Live! is an historic global media event to get people everywhere to stand up and declare their heartfelt support for the alleviation of poverty and hunger which is devasting so many of the world's women and their children.
What is the world vision of WomenAID Live ?
To have women's vital voices heard and respected around the world. To have the world raise it's voice as "one" to change the lives of the world's poorest women and their children.
What does WomenAID LIVE! Aim to do?
WomenAID LIVE! aims to build a better and secure future for the women and children of the world. It will do so in three specific ways: Use the Power of the Media - Raise Global Awareness. We will use the power of the media to raise awareness of the particular problems women face by promoting action for the protection of civil, political, economic, social and human rights of girls and women around the world. Call to Action to World Leaders WomenAID LIVE! will give serious clout to women's vital voices globally, to apply pressure on World Leaders to keep it's promises: to meet the millennium goals; to Live8; and launch a powerful new UN Agency, to be funded for $1 to 2 billion by member states annually, to respond to women's special needs, including the escalation of AIDS, violence, and poverty . Concert to Benefit - Global Women's Empowerment programs We will create the most exciting global benefit held to date, to raise substantial millions of millions of dollars from concert proceeds, donations, sponsors, and philanthropists, to be disbursed to strategic partners.
The WomenAID Foundation will fund a multi-tiered media approach to help bridge the digital divide and bring women into the 21st century. Create media and PSA campaigns to change cultural views on the value of educating women and girls. Every increase in freedom for women to make their contribution to the fabric of life benefits us all. BIG BOLD IDEA: To ask the World audience, and the Private Sector of enlightened corporate leaders and philanthropists, to match the U.N. Fund for Women to the tune of 1 or 2 billion dollars. Small integrated marches already happen around the world on this day annually. After the initial Concert in October, this date will allow us to galvanize a global grassroots campaign to organize live events on this day to benefit WomenAID throughout the world. Empower Women. Save the Children

Be a part of WomenAID LIVE in its inaugural year and celebrate the women of the world and the most remarkable women leaders of the 21st century. It Takes Courage to Care Why We're Needed
Currently just 7 percent of all philanthropic dollars fund programs for women and girls.  Stephen Lewis's Senior Advisor, Paula Donovan, conceived the idea of a UN agency exclusively devoted to women. All these programs and projects that women have designed, but could never get off the ground because of lack of staff and resources could be implemented. They haven't been sitting around waiting for outside help. They've been doing what they can to help themselves. These women know what needs to be done and they just need support to do it.
